Day 1 Januay 13 – Tampa Depart from Ottawa on our Air Canada direct flight to Tampa, Florida. Transfer to ms Veendam with time to unpack and take a stroll around the ship. We sail at 5 p.m. As the dinner hour approaches, the melodious call of the chime master invites guests to the Rotterdam Dining Room with its surrounding panoramic ocean views, as well as fine art and antiques. Enjoy a sumptuous five-course dinner while a quartet plays soft dinner music. Attune yourself to refined elegance. This is home for the next 14 nights. |

Day 2 January 14 – At sea Every day aboard a Holland America cruise ship brings a wealth of activities and indulgences, along with the freedom to partake in as many - or as few - as you please. Day 5 January 17 – St. Thomas, U.S. V.I. The lovely, European-influenced port of Charlotte Amalie wins the prize for Caribbean s hopping. Do your treasure hunting near Dronningens Gade, better known as Main Street, where hundreds of duty free shops line the streets and alleys, and visit Vendors Plaza across from the Emancipation Park and Fort Christian. Best buys on St. Thomas include jewelry, alcohol, china, crystal, perfumes, art, clothing, watches and cameras. Visit the medieval-style Skytsborg, better known to today's visitors as Blackbeard's Castle. Climb to Drake’s Seat, or visit the beautiful beaches or undersea gardens. Day 7 January 19 – Bridgetown, Barbados Barbados is unique with her mixture of English traditions and Caribbean style. Often called "Little England" the island is home to stone buildings, homes and churches built centuries ago. If one did not see nearby swaying palm trees he might be convinced he was in some London neighborhood. Here cricket is the national sport, afternoon tea goes without saying and motorists hug left. Day 8 January 20 – St. George’s, Grenada This picturesque city, wrapped around the perimeter of the island's finest natural harbour, is perhaps the most appealing capital city in the entire Caribbean. Founded in the early 18th century by the French, St. George's still possesses something of the character of a French town, particularly in the red tile roofs and pastel colors of its traditional architecture. Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean, is a rolling, mountainous island, covered with fragrant spice trees and rare tropical flowers. Bordered by stunning beaches, and dotted with picturesque towns, this verdant island has long been a major source of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and cocoa. Day 13 January 25 – Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Crystalline waters, snorkeling with tame stingrays, civilian submarines: This duty-free port has it all, plus Seven Mile Beach and a charming turtle farm. The largest of the three Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman is the most cosmopolitan, with luxury hotels, restaurants and clubs for the discriminating vacationer.
