Private Full Day tour to Oxford, Stratford, and Warwick Castle

After breakfast at the hotel, meet our guide in the lobby and transfer to Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, the first stop in our full-day excursion. Renowned for its history and heritage, exquisite architecture, and ancient University, Oxford has been a home to royalty and scholars for over 800 years, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years.

Our walking tour of Oxford will include entry to Christ Church Cathedral, the only church in the world to be both a cathedral and a college chapel. Dating back to the twelfth century, Christ Church is among the oldest buildings in Oxford, and one of the smallest Anglican cathedrals in England.

Lunch, followed by a visit to Shakespeare’s birthplace and free time to explore the delightful town of Stratford-Upon-Avon. A market town with more than 800 years of history, Stratford-Upon-Avon still retains many buildings that would have been familiar to Shakespeare.

Transfer to Warwick Castle where Medievel England is brought back to life with minstels and jesters and live shows demonstrating jousting, archery, falconry and combat.

The history of the castle, with its typical Great Hall, State rooms, Chapel, Ghost Tower and dungeons, actually dates back to the 10th century. Outside there is a Victorian rose garden, conservatory and peacock garden.

These are not just ceremonial guards but also serving soldiers, some of the most elite and skilled soldiers in the British Army.

Visit Covent Garden, an Italian-style piazza famous for its shops, street performers, bars, restaurants, theatres and the Royal Opera House.

Canterbury Cathedral, White Cliffs of Dover, and Dover Castle

Following breakfast at the hotel, meet our guide in the lobby and head for Kent County.

Lunch in Canterbury, followed by a visit to Canterbury Cathedral, one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. Ever since the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in the Cathedral in 1170, Canterbury has attracted thousands of pilgrims.

From Canterbury, travel to the White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle, spectacularly situated above the White Cliffs on the Kent coastline.

Founded in the 12th century, it has been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history.

Its origins lie in the Iron Age, and a Roman Lighthouse and Anglo-Saxon church can still be seen within the grounds, as well as secret wartime and medieval tunnels.
