Celebrate Stratford’s 60th Anniversary
with Christopher Plummer
July 31 – August 3, 2012

| |

A one-man show adapted, arranged and performed by Christopher Plummer is one of the highlights
of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival’s 60th season, and it is just one of the four performances
we will see on this tour. “I’m very excited about our 2012 season,” said Des McAnuff, Artistic
director. “It covers the complete Stratford landscape, from Shakespeare ... to a substantial body
of new work.”
We will also enjoy lunches at the Aberfoyle Mill in Aberfoyle and Solé Restaurant in Waterloo,
a very interesting tour of the Stratford Festival Archives and a guided tour of the incomparable
Castle Kilbride with its amazing illusionary interior.
Accommodations at the lovely Arden Park Hotel.

TUESDAY, JULY 31
Early morning departure for Stratford from the National Gallery of Canada on Sussex Drive.
Stop for lunch at the Aberfoyle Mill in Aberfoyle. The décor of the Mill, built in 1859, is made up
of authentic antiques, one of the largest personal collections of Canadiana in the country.
Afternoon arrival at the lovely Arden Park Hotel, located on the main street, a short walk from the
Festival Theatre.
The Arden Park is the newest hotel in Stratford and boasts many excellent facilities
including an indoor swimming pool.
Dinner on your own before transferring to Festival Theatre for the evening performance
of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
“As Claudio woos his beloved Hero, his friend Benedick and Hero’s cousin Beatrice trade
insults in their “merry war” of mutual disdain. But as Claudio’s wedding day approaches,
a series of deceptions – both friendly and malicious – brings about more than one dramatic
change of heart.” L
